Jersey Shore mania is so out of control that a restaurant in Connecticut has created a sandwich in their honor! Someone tweeted this pic and I had to share!

Ha! Eat enough of those and your "situation" won't be very ripped!

What a morning.... George Steinbrenner. Tough week for us Yankees fans!

At least he passed away while we're still the reigning world champs! RIP George. Such a loss for the team, the fans, his family and friends. His memory will live on through the game.

Quite possibly one of my favorite cat videos of all time! I've watched this over and over for at least three years now and it never gets old! "Oh don piano!" Hahahaha!

And this is definitely a close second! "You better not put this on YouTube!" Ha ha! Too late!

Allison Iraheta stopped by BLI!

It's Allison Iraheta! (4th place on American Idol Season 8, currently on tour with Adam Lambert, and her album is called "Just Like You!") She opened on Adam's tour and she KILLED it!!! Girl rocks!!!!

Hear the interview! | Listen to an acoustic performance of "Don't Waste the Pretty" in the BLI studio!

I have no words. I TALK for a living and I have no words. That is how much I absolutely LOVE Adam Lambert with all my heart! He is one of the most incredible performers I've ever seen in my life... and not to mention an absolute SWEETHEART!

I've blogged about my exultant obsession with him in some earlier entries, which you can go back and check out! But I've been exploding glitter after seeing him at the Nokia Theatre on 6/22! (And yes, I also saw OPENING NIGHT of his Glam Nation Tour in Pennsylvania and a smaller show in Poughkeepsie two days later...and I'm going to Staten Island in August!)

This is the first time I've been so drawn to and passionate about an artist SO MUCH that I feel the need to go to more than one show on the same tour... and STILL want more! And this past Tuesday!?? Absolutely amazing! Not only was I fortunate to snag a meet & greet (thanks bosses--and more about that in a bit!), but we were RIGHT UP in front for the entire show! I don't think it's completely all set in yet! Watching him merely three feet in front of me, working that stage with his sexiness and quite obviously his intoxicating, melliflous voice of charm and love... completely mesmerizing.

Yes, I was singing along and taking photos, but there were several moments that I simply stood there, mouth agape; eyes transfixed on this unbelievable "Alien from Planet Fierce" right in front me--one moment in particular when no other sound was heard in that entire theatre but HIS VOICE. Chills. You just don't even know until you see it (and HEAR it) for yourself!

Allison Iraheta and Orianthi were the openers, which was a really great fit! These ladies ROCK! Allison (who was on Idol with Adam in Season 8!) has an amazing gritty sort of rocker voice! She was actually my second favorite on Idol during that season! And Orianthi just KILLS it on guitar!

And ohhh, the meet & greet! Are you surprised that I was the first one in?! Ha ha. I walked right up to him and introduced myself! He looked me RIGHT in the eyes; that deep eye contact where it's almost as if he looks right THROUGH you! He tapped the brim of my black sequined hat and said, "I like your sparkles!" I somehow kept myself from fan-girling. I told him how incredible he is and how much I admire his positive energy. He was all cute and appreciative! We took a quick picture, then I mentioned to him that my birthday is two days after his, so I'm a fellow Aquarian! He's really into Astrology, so he gets a kick out of that sort of thing! Then I told him my ascendant sign is Gemini and he said, "Okay! And what's your moon?" And when I said Scorpio, he grinned (ohhh that smile!!) and said, "Ohhh, so you're trouble!!" Ha ha ha!!! So adorable!!

Witness Exhibit A:

That's me on the left and Squeakz from the BLI Street Team on the right! (He's 6'2" or something and she's 4'7"!) How funny! And yes, after we left the room I fell on the floor and giggled like a thirteen-year-old!

And I also met Linda from Lake Grove!! She was the winner of our Meet & Greet on-air contest and we had SO much fun being Glambert Geeks together!! Linda is on the left and her sister Nancy is on the right!

And as if all of this wasn't enough??? We somehow managed to get on an Entertainment Tonight video of Adam talking about the show and his fans! Watch at 1:20! I can't even believe how awesome this is!!!

Wow!!! Oh, this boy... he's left me speechless. And I ain't just trippin' off the glitz. I fell.

Headphones & Silly Bandz!

Here's some comic relief at my expense!!

It was a beautiful day today, so I wanted to take advantage and go for a nice walk around the block! Only problem was, one of the ear buds for my mp3 player crapped out on me! And I NEED my music for a walk, soooo... I improvised! I used my work headphones! Now, keep in mind that we radio geeks usually use quite large studio monitor type headphones!! (I use Sony MDR-7506's to be exact, but that's beside the point!)

I can only imagine how much of a dork I looked like walking down the street with those things on, ha ha ha! Not to mention that I was sporting a High School Musical t-shirt and an arm full of those Silly Bandz bracelets!

Yeah, your 2nd grader is jealous--and I have a new childish addiction.

Also, I almost got chased by a giant black dog. That was kind of scary. By the way, the music sounds GREAT in my large headphones!

I absolutely love, love, LOVE summertime on Long Island!! It's like an endorphin to me; a natural high. I am intoxicated by the sun and the warmth! It stays light out late! And when the wind blows juuuust a certain way--especially after a rain shower--I can smell the ocean outside of my apartment. Ahhh!

And I'm VERY excited about my summer vacation this year!! Instead of traveling (with the exception of trips to see my family in Connecticut or friends in Pennsylvania), I'm taking a week off and staying right here in New York! My mom and sister are going to come visit that week and we're gonna do all kinds of fun things like go to Fire Island, the wineries, the beach, and the city! This probably won't be until July or August, but I'll be sure to share my adventures when we do it!

When we live somewhere, we often forget about all the treasures we have right in our own backyard! Long Island is FULL of some of the coolest stuff--especially in the summer!! The best city in the world is a train ride away and there is always a beach within 20 minutes!! (Oh, those poor souls in the mid-west who've never seen the ocean in real life!)

So don't stress if you can't make it to another state for some summer family frolic! You can find your home away from home right here... at home!! Just look... you'll be surprised at what you discover! And if you discover something I don't know about yet, please share!
