Nick H. Gabriel, DO is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and assistant professor of surgery at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He trained in general surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an affiliate of Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and then completed a laparoscopic surgery fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.
While at Yale, he taught extensively and authored several textbook chapters. Dr.Gabriel has become well known as a weight loss surgeon and is one of the first surgeons to perform “Lap Band” procedures in Brooklyn and Long Island. He is now Director of Bariatric Surgery at St. Catherine’s, but maintains his appointment as Director of the Surgical Residency Program at the Peninsula Hospital Center in Queens, New York.
Dr. Gabriel has appeared on the Discovery Channel, CNN, ABC-TV, UPN9 News and has also been featured in “The New York Daily News” and other well known publications.
