The most renowned of all State parks, it derived its name from Major Thomas Jones who came to Long Island in 1692 and built the first brick house on the Island and eventually acquired 6000 acres of which part are on the grounds of the current park.

The original theater was constructed in the early 1930's and was renovated in 1945 and again in 1992. In 1998 the theater was expanded to its current configuration and now seats 14000 people comfortably. Jones Beach currently is one of the top ranked amphitheaters in the country and plays host to todays top artists and celebrity attractions as well as festivals and fine arts Performances.

The Garden was renovated in 1991, just in time for the Democratic National Convention. Half the "blue seats" were removed for luxury boxes, and the old iron railings were replaced by knee-crushing concrete walls--which makes going to a game like sitting in a bunker.

The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is an 18,000 seat multi-purpose arena located on Long Island, New York. The Coliseum is host to New York Islanders Hockey, New York Saints Lacrosse, and New York Dragons Football as well as concerts, family shows, dirt events, and much more. Nassau Coliseum was built on Mitchel Field Army / Air Force base, and opened on May 29, 1972 at a cost of 32 million dollars. The building is 460 feet long, 340 feet wide, and rises 75 feet above the ground. The ice floor is 20 feet below ground as was constructed with a single pour of 450 yards of concrete.

The arena contains 32 luxury suites and a 110-seat press box. The newly refinished concourse features 14 concession stands of a wide variety of foods. The exhibition hall is 60,000 square feet with 20-foot ceilings. Annual events include custom car, home remodeling, pet, flower and boat shows.

Radio City Music Hall was built as part of midtown Manhattan's Rockefeller Center complex in 1932. In 1979 it was declared a landmark and saved from threat of demolition. Since then, the theater has staged star-studded events ranging from the Grammy Awards to the Moscow Circus.
