OMG I had it all.... The jacket, posters, the works. I even have somewhere in my parents attic a talking viewmaster and my mom got me the thriller disks that went with it so it would play the song while I flipped through the pics. LOL I used to tell my mom I was gonna marry him and kissed his posters every nite lol! 

It still seems so fake that something this tragic really happened.  

After thinking more and more about it last nite ... This may seem weird but it might have been gods plan to try to "heal the world...make it a better place" because MJ touched EVERYONE in the entire world! if u noticed yesterday as the news was breaking EVERYONE reacted in such a way... From forming vigils to stations playing tributes to tv stations throwing together MJ specials in a matter of a few hours. I mean honestly look at the little bit of turnaround time the media had and the tributes were deeply touching.  

Some people compared his legacy to Elvis some compared him to the beetles. Sadly some people felt that ed m. and Farrah faucets deaths were put on the backburner and "forgotten" which sad to say kinda did happen BUT there is no comparison when it comes to someone like the king of pop who grew up in front of the world. He was like a staple icon! In fact EVERYONE knew him! (not saying the other 2 weren't important BUT unfortunately it was unexpected and untimely) 

One last thing...crazy but true.... (this doesnt come from me it was just something i heard) When the pope passed away I remember hearing people pass comments like - the next time the ENTIRE world will be THIS upset is if Michael Jackson dies ... And honestly I can now see how true that statement was! 

This has truly been a sad week in the entertainment world and all I can say is that our prayers and thoughts go out the families greiving during this tough time.

I remember being at a holiday show back in 2000 and he showed up and the crowd just went insane and people actually started to cry. I have never seen one man/artist create such hysteria and mayhem and bring that sort of emotion to fans. Man In The Mirror and PYT are definitely my favs :)

I will never forget...December 24th, 1983...my Aunt Sue thought it would be a great gift...and there it was...the box wrapped ever so beautifully...I tore it open...and...and...and...WHAT THE HELL?!!!!  Well, it was certainly better than those red, plastic, K-Tel skis she bought me last Christmas.  Damn, I was the man in this jacket!

I remember in high school and bonnie bottorf had michael jackson off the wall, is that the album. Then I moved away from home and I remember when everyone was waiting with anticipation for thriller. My husband bill drove me to the roosevelt mall in jacksonville, fl in his triumph tr7 and I bought the album. Oh I was so excited!!
