Comedian Katt Williams jailed in Georgia, accused of damaging property

Comedian Katt Williams was jailed Thursday in Georgia on a charge of second-degree criminal damage to property, Fulton County Jail records show.

Few additional details surrounding the arrest were immediately available. However, jail records showed that the arrest stemmed from an incident reported in late February.

Williams, a Hall County resident, has had several run-ins with law enforcement this year.

Most recently, police in Los Angeles arrested Williams in July on a misdemeanor battery charge after a woman claimed the comedian attacked her outside a banquet hall and hotel.

Williams was arrested in April on a separate battery charge. The manager of Spondivits in Atlanta told police that Williams hit him in the lip with a salt shaker after Williams and his group were denied preferential seating at the restaurant.

"I am just like most Christians, under daily attack, but somehow holding up well," Williams told WSB-TV after he was released on bond in March after he was accused of attacking his bodyguard, Corey Dixon.

Jail records show that Williams remained behind bars Friday afternoon.
