This makes sense, because when I think health, I think candy bars: Hershey’s is expanding its portfolio with a new line of post-workout PROTEIN POWDERS.
They partnered with the supplement brand C4 on two of them that are supposed to taste like Hershey’s chocolate and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. They’ll hit stores next month.
They’re also selling a pre-workout powder that tastes like Bubble Yum bubblegum, which might be even weirder. Plus, a line of C4 energy drinks that taste like Jolly Ranchers.
This isn’t actually new ground for C4. They already have drinks that taste like Skittles and Starburst. The idea is to attract young people, who might not know a lot about supplements . . . but do like candy.
Meanwhile, Hershey’s is looking for new revenue streams to offset their falling candy sales. They recently reported a 17% drop in revenue.
