In honor of Taylor Swift’s birthday, here are 13 moments from The Eras Tour we’ll never forget!
1. Announcing her re-releases!
Taylor announced Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at The Eras Tour.
The fans were losing their minds at the announcement. 2023′s The Eras Tour was truly something else! It created such a special moment for fans. (Now…how do we get reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift aka Debut (Taylor’s Version) to happen...asking for a friend!)
2. “Mother is mothering”
Swifties often refer to Taylor as “mother.” She took the time to troll us before “Champagne Problems.”
3. Taylor unveiling the “I Can See You” music video during The Eras Tour!
Not only was this moment truly iconic, but she brought Joey King and Taylor Lautner on stage to unveil it! They were all in the music video together. Taylor Lautner even back flipped on stage too!
4. Musical guests!
It gave fans an extra reason to get excited! Taylor brought Jack Antonoff on stage in London, Gracie Abrams in multiple locations, Hayley Williams of Paramore in London, Ice Spice in New Jersey, and the list goes on and on! Fans were also hoping Post Malone would make a guest appearance after the release of “Fortnight.”
5. Taylor singing “Labyrinth” and a literal PLANE going down!
During Taylor’s surprise set portion of The Eras Tour, Taylor performed “Labyrinth.” As she sings “I thought the plane was going down” on piano, a LITERAL PLANE WAS LANDING IN BACK OF HER! As Taylor puts it, she’s “never beating the sorcery allegations.”
6. The “Bad Blood (Hey Stop)” remix
This incident during the Philadelphia show has made Swifties adopt this new “version.” Every time I hear “Bad Blood,” my brain IMMEDIATELY hears the “Hey stop” version!
7. Taylor swallowing bugs on stage!
It’s so strange this has happened as many times as it is, but I suppose when you sing a 3+ hour set, it’s bound to happen! Taylor’s had moments where she’s accidentally swallowed bugs.
8. The new outfits/ adding TTPD to the setlist!
Not only did Taylor debut a new “era” to the setlist, but she added new outfits as well! Paris night 1 was lucky to see them first! I loved getting to hear “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” live! I loved that Taylor unveiled the “moonstone” Midnights bodysuit in London and the gold reputation bodysuit in Miami!
9. The addition of “Mashups” to Taylor’s surprise songs!
As IF Taylor didn’t keep Swifties on their toes enough, Taylor debuted the “mashup surprise song” element. Fans were obsessed with this idea, even making their own mashup predictions. One of my favorite mashups was “Mad Woman” x “Cassandra” x “I Did Something Bad” in Toronto.
10. “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.”
Taylor’s relationship with Travis Kelce starting in the middle of The Eras Tour gave fans so much excitement for her. The photos of the two of them that continued to surface were truly wholesome! As a Swiftie, it was great seeing Taylor so happy in the public eye in a very public relationship. When Taylor sing the line “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” in Argentina, fans lost their minds. I was LIVING for Travis’ reaction.
High key living for the fact that in Taylor’s last performance of “Karma,” she added that line change.
11. Bringing Travis Kelce on stage!
Though Travis originally wanted to be on stage during the 1989 set, we couldn’t help but LOVE that Travis came out during TTPD. He carried her and even “put color back into her face.” It was SO wholesome. Re-live that moment here.
12. Taylor’s face seeing Travis Kelce on stage in Dublin!
Speaking of Travis Kelce and Taylor, we can’t forget Taylor’s face lighting up seeing her man in the VIP booth, making it to her show! I literally LOVE these two together.
13. New traditions!
They’re new things Swifties added to The Eras Tour that made it truly memorable! Holding up a heart with our hands during “Fearless,” the crowd chanting “more” on stage during “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart,” the 22 hat, and so much more.
In case you want to re-live the last Eras Tour, here is a recap of what you may have missed!
Some more top moments were: Taylor ripping off her heel during the Lover set and throwing it out into the crowd, Taylor’s hair getting stuck in the Folklore set, Taylor slipping on the Folklore house, and of course Taylor’s “rainiest rain show that ever rain showed.”
I’m already missing the grainy live streams and hearing the standing ovation after “Champagne Problems.” Happy birthday, Taylor! “I’m like a full fan” of you!
