IKEA Is Launching a Site to Sell Your Preowned Furniture

If Craigslist still has employees, they’re freaking out right now . . .

IKEA is launching a new website where customers will be able to sell their used IKEA furniture.

It’s called IKEA Preowned.  They’re testing it in Spain and Norway through the end of the year, with plans to roll it out to other countries after that.

They already have a small program where they sometimes buy back used stuff and resell it.  But this is a peer-to-peer marketplace, where you’ll be able to sell your used IKEA crap to other people.

It’s got a few bells and whistles to make things easier.  Like an A.I.-powered database that adds images and measurements for you.  And you’ll have the option of being paid in cash, or in IKEA credit with a 15% bonus.

Either way, it might get even easier to toss that old Knutstorp chair up online and see how much you can get for it.
