Long Island Theatre Review: The Argyle's "A Christmas Carol"

Argyle Theatre

The holidays have arrived in Babylon, bringing the stories we have grown up loving to stage with an amazing cast, crew, & pit.

You guys know, I’m obsessed with theatre, so when I had the opportunity to see “A Christmas Carol” on opening night at The Argyle Theatre in Babylon, I couldn’t say no.

The story follows Scrooge, who is best described as a Christmas Grinch. He hates the idea of Christmas and isn’t willing to help or be giving to anyone in town during the holiday season. That is, until he is visited by the ghost of Christmas past, present and future and discovers the true meaning of Christmas and how he should spend his life giving instead of being...well...a bit of a humbug!

The entire cast was remarkable, which is something I always love about seeing shows at the Argyle. Each role is handled with so much care and you can see how the actors really delve into their characters. Leland Burnett was a phenomenal Ebenezer Scrooge (I felt bad for hating him the first bit of the show, only because he played the role so well!), and I was absolutely FLOORED by the vocal performance of Grace Ellis Soloman. And we cannot discuss “A Christmas Carol” without acknowledging the ADORABILITY of Nicholas David Crocco who played Tiny Tim during my performance Saturday night.

Overall, it was an incredible show that really highlighted what matters most during the holiday season, and was another 11/10 from The Argyle Theatre. They don’t say “Broadway comes to Babylon” for nothing! For more details, and where to get your tickets, click HERE!
