It was a tale as old as time in Oakdale, at CM Performing Arts Center!
Now everyone knows the story of Belle and her unlikely prince. Beauty and the Beast captures the magic that happens when you look beneath the surface, and fall in love with someone’s heart.
CM Performing Arts Center was the perfect stage for this classic Disney tale. Laura Laureano, who played Belle, brought such a captivating impact on the beloved Disney Princess, through her vocal performance as well as the genuine emotions brought to the role. My personal favorite song of hers was, “A Change in Me” in the second act. It was such a performance, that many audience members gave her a standing ovation after the song ended.
But Laureano was not the only one who shined in her role. Aaron Mor (Beast), Zak Ketcham (Gaston), LeFou (Patrick Campbell), Lumiere (Keith Jones) and the rest of the cast was phenomenal and transported you right to the first time watching Beauty and the Beast.
One of the highlights for me was the ensemble numbers! Be Our Guest, was an electric, colorful, vibrant performance that the performers gave their all too (and I mean, any scene that ends with CONFETTI has my heart!) And I can’t forget about the ensemble number where they perform “Gaston” in the Tavern. The ensemble was a unified wall of sound and incredible harmonies. If I knew that choreography I would have DEMANDED two tin cups and started clinking some glasses too!
The run ends THIS SUNDAY and is perfect for all families. The amount of little kids dressed as Belle has my heart so happy. To see the show for yourself, get tickets HERE!
And get excited for CM Performing Arts Center next main stage show, A Christmas Story, running December 7th through December 22nd!
