Welcome Long Island’s newest residents, the MONK PARAKEETS!

According to News 12 Long Island, the quaker parrots you typically see in a pet shop are now being seen in some Long Island parks & many Long Islanders have reported seeing them in their backyards! “These birds come from Argentina and coming from Argentina, the weather is very much like the weather here, so they’re able to adapt to the cold temperatures. Plus they’re very industrious, and they build these large nest of sticks, which people see on transformers and ballfields where they spend the evening,” says Marc Marrone, of Parrots of the World.

I wonder if these birds know about Long Island taxes. LOL!
