2018 was a big year for world tours! Between Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Pink, & Jayz & Beyonce, there was no shortage on hanging with our fave singers to jam for a few hours, but no one had a bigger year as far as touring goes than Ed Sheeran! Pollstar released it’s year end report on Monday, & Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” Tour has the top spot. The singers global tour made the most money in the last 30 years. Sheeran, who performed mostly solo onstage but had Elton John come on as a guest vocalist at select events, sold 4,860,482 tickets across 53 cities and 94 shows for an all-time record gross of $432 million. That amount is well ahead of the money made in 2018 by Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” tour ($345.1 million) and Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s “On the Run II” tour ($254.1 million). 2018 has been one of the most lucrative years for Worldwide Tours altogether, surpassing $2 billion, where 2017 was $1.8 million.
