Producer Sarah here,
Full disclosure: Often times you’ll see this advertised as “vegan bacon” I won’t do you like that, it’s not even close to what bacon tastes like. But it’s a great, crispy, healthy alternative.
HERE’S WHAT YA DO:
Save banana peels til they’re nice and brown. They can be completely brown but don’t wait too long after that.
Scrape the extra banana off the peels with a spoon.
Put all the peels in a Tupperware and season them with soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, and cayenne pepper.
I don’t measure things but if you need an estimate: 1 tbsp per peel of each- just don’t drown them.
Put the top on and shake it up. Let it sit longer for the most flavor.. but I usually can’t wait and take them out after 10 min.
Heat up your frying pan with a little oil and pan-fry those things. I don’t time things but 2-3 min per side should be good.
Take them out, let cool and EAT. Bonus points for sprinkling them on avo toast.
