WBLI's Kiana is Recognizing a Long Island Healthcare Hero Every Friday

Healthcare workers have always been important to Long Islanders, but since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, they have truly become HEROES! Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Workers, and anyone else currently working in the healthcare industry have been working tirelessly to help those that are sick and to keep others healthy!

If you know someone who put their own safety at risk to help others, tell us about them so we can shine a light on their deeds and recognize them for their heroism.

Each week we'll recognize one healthcare hero on-air and award them with $100 in Moe’s bucks to Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Plus, their photo will be featured on BLI social media and below on our "Healthcare Hero Wall of Fame!"

Healthcare Heroes is sponsored by Hunter Business School & Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Heathcare Hero Wall of Fame

This week, Kathleen Laviano from Selden was nominated by her partner, Heather Polacek. Heather had to say, “Kathleen has been a dedicated nurse throughout the entirety of the pandemic. She also helped play a role in keeping Covid out of her facility for almost a year. She is amazing, compassionate, and hard-working and deserves recognition!” They are a part of the awesome team over at San Simeon on the Sound, where they were able to keep out COVID for an entire year!
