Nipsey Hussle, the rapper who was gunned down earlier this year, will be honored with a humanitarian award at this year's BET Awards.
"In the spirit of uplift he evoked in his community, his work as a devoted son, brother, father, partner, friend and all-around community advocate and philanthropist, musician and businessman," the network said in a statement.
Hussle, 33, was gunned down outside his clothing store March 31.
A tribute to Hussle featuring DJ Khaled, YG and John Legend is also planned.
Previous winners include Chance the Rapper (2017), Dwyane Wade (2013), Legend (2010) and Muhammad Ali (2002).
