SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Three people were critically hurt in an explosion Tuesday at a California industrial park, authorities said.
According to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal and KNBC, the blast happened shortly before 5 p.m. at a facility on Rye Canyon Loop in the Santa Clarita Valley. Although some news outlets intially reported that the explosion occurred at a film set, the Los Angeles County Fire Department later described the site as a “tractor-trailer storage facility,” according to KNBC.
Emergency crews rushed three burn victims with critical injuries to an area hospital, the Signal reported. A fourth victim went to the hospital on his own, according to KNBC.
The blast also caused a brush fire that was contained to one acre by 5:20 p.m., the Signal reported.
No further details were immediately available.
