Michigan zoo introduces new calf named Pumpkin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Michigan zoo introduced their brand-new calf, who is officially named Pumpkin.

John Ball Zoo announced Wednesday that they have received a donation from 2 Men & A Hen which is a brand-new calf who will be joining the zoo’s Hobby Farm.

JBZ said that Pumpkin’s name came to be after a contest they organized and were able to raise about $621.

According to WXMI, Pumpkin will be joining their Hobby Farm, which is a children’s petting zoo at JBZ. Pumpkin is a miniature highland calf who was born on June 21.

Pumpkin will be staying at JBZ’s onsite animal hospital for a few weeks before he joins the rest of the herd, the zoo said.

WXMI said that Pumpkin will eventually be found among the sheep and goats in August.
