According to KRIS and KXAS, the Carrollton Police Department announced about 11 a.m. Wednesday that investigators had found Rosemary Lee Singer, 10, and her biological father, Ronald Lee Singer, 35, in a Red Oak hotel. The news came just hours after a roommate discovered the girl’s mother, Maria Romero Ramos, 45, dead in their East Hebron Parkway home, sparking a search for the girl and her father, the news outlets reported.

“The child is safe and her father is now in custody, charged with murdering her mother,” the department, which had requested a statewide Amber Alert in the case, later wrote in a Facebook post. “Thank you to Red Oak and Dallas police departments for your help, and for all the news coverage and shares.”

KXAS reported that Ramos was the suspect’s ex-wife.

Authorities have not released any additional information about Ramos’ cause of death.
